GAIN Event Block Parties

Following on the success of the Sun Groves Spring Festival in March, our first community wide GAIN Event was held Saturday, October 20, 2007. GAIN is an acronym for Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods, and is a statewide event. It is intended as a crime prevention day of celebration. In Chandler, BlockWatches and Neighborhoods citywide participated in block parties to show their support in the day-to-day fight against crime. Sun Groves hosted 10 block parties throughout our community.

Thanks to our Social Committee volunteers and all our volunteer Hosts and Assistants, the Event was a great success, with face painting, bouncy toys and, of course, visits from various police and fire units. The Chandler Fire Department and Chandler Police Officers were available to talk with neighbors and answer questions.

There was also prize drawing for our volunteers, which was won by Erica Roberts. Congratulations, Erica.
